Hi, I am the owner and current sole SLP at Kendrick Speech Therapy, LLC. After 15 years of working at almost every possible speech therapy placement there is, I was burnt out! I was ready to do my own thing and provide speech therapy the way I feel is the most effective, enjoyable for the child, and makes parents feel involved and important (because they are seriously the critical piece, which I think everyone in my various jobs was not getting! So here I am with my own private practice doing it my way! :)
I currently have 17 years of experience working as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
I am an ASHA-Certified Speech-Language Pathologist and hold my SLP license in Georgia and Texas.
I have worked in private speech clinics, outpatient speech programs, United Cerebral Palsy, home health agencies, charter schools, public schools, as an Assistive Technology Specialist in AAC for a school district, as a provider for Babies Can’t Wait, and aslo a private Speech Therapy Consultants, and now I manage my own private speech practice where I take on pediatric clients in the community.
I feel confident in my experience and skills as an SLP. I pride myself on giving my all to ensure my students make progress as quickly as possible toward their goals, using a variety of evidence-based approaches to determine what works best for each student.
I prioritize strong partnerships with families and teachers and ensure consistent, clear communication to support skills learned outside of speech therapy.
Helping children grow their confidence in communication and feel successful is the most rewarding part of my work. I also love developing relationships with the families and teachers I work with!

My APPROACH to Speech Therapy
The primary rule for speech therapy should be:
1. Motivation is everything! Make your speech sessions engaging so your children are excited and can't wait to see you.
2. Establish a solid relationship with parents that revolves around transparency, test love for their child, and great communication.
However, every child is unique, and you must find what motivates them. It takes time to connect with each child, to learn what they love and how they learn best. Whether it's through pretend play, books, sensory activities, or humor, each session is designed to create a fun, engaging experience that keeps kids interested and motivated.
Providing evidence-based speech and language therapy techniques is a standard that must be followed, but a good SLP can deliver these techniques in a way that feels playful, encouraging, and full of positive reinforcement. This approach is structured, but never rigid. It's supportive, but always goal-focused. Plus, parents are always included as active participants in all intervention decisions because they are truly the glue that helps make speech therapy a success!
