Hi, I am Jenny,

  • I have 17 years of experience as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, working in a variety of settings and with different age groups. However, my true love is working with children.

  • I am an ASHA-Certified Speech-Language Pathologist and hold my SLP license in Georgia and Texas.

  • I absolutely love being an SLP, which feels more like a passion than a job. I strive to be fully present with my students, meet them where they are, celebrate every win, and find different & fun ways to keep them motivated. I also use a variety of evidence-based approaches to ensure my students meet their speech goals as quickly as possible.

  • I also truly believe one of the most important things a therapist can do is to communicate with and teach students’ parents about what you are targeting in speech with their child, why, and to help them find fun, easy ways to work on these targets at home. It is one of the best ways to help students make progress, support carryover, and develop skills in real-life situations.

My APPROACH to Speech Therapy 

*I have 2 key factors that are critical to the success of speech therapy.

  1. MOTIVATION IS EVERYTHING! Find what motivates each child you work with and use it in every session to make speech fun and productive. If speech is fun, students will work harder, practice at home, and make faster progress!

  2. Great parent relationships are critical. Building strong relationships with my students’ parents is very important to me because they help make speech therapy work. Parents who are involved are often the ones whose children make the fastest progress. A successful relationship with parents is built on progress, consistent communication after each session, transparency, trust, mutual respect, and showing them how much I genuinely enjoy and care about their child and the work I do each session to help them make as much progress as possible. It’s a team effort, and you can’t do it alone. If you get the parents and even teachers on board, that’s the ultimate dream!

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

  • Georgia State License in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the Georgia Board of Professional Licensing.

  • Georgia Teacher/Educator License Holder.

  • Orton-Gillingham Trained: I hold an Associate-Level Certification, allowing me to work as an OG practitioner in one-on-one intervention or remedial settings.
