Hi, I am Jenny Kendrick, the owner and current solo SLP at Kendrick Speech Therapy, LLC.

  • I currently have 17 years of experience working as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.

  • I am an ASHA-Certified Speech-Language Pathologist and hold my SLP license in Georgia and Texas.

My APPROACH to Speech Therapy 

** Requires ONLY 2 things you must do to ensure success in speech therapy:

1. Motivation is everything! Find out what motivates each child you work with. Once you find that out, use it in every session to make speech fun, but productive, and they won’t even realize they are having to work! If you make speech fun for your students, they will do anything for you. So they will work harder, want to do their speech practice at home, and ultimately make faster progress!

2. Great parent relationships are critical! It is very important to me to establish strong relationships with my students’ parents because they hold the key to everything working in speech therapy. Parents who get involved are the parents whose children usually make the fastest progress. Creating a successful relationship with parents is built on them actually seeing progress, consistent communication (contacting them after each session with updates), transparency, trust, mutual respect, and showing your parents how you genuinely enjoy and care for their child, and that you put in the work and effort each session to try to help their child make as much progress as they can. Also, that you are there for them. I have a “text/call me anytime” policy. I want my parents to feel as though I am accessible whenever they need me, or if their home speech practice isn’t going well, I can send them a quick video of me or a resource. Whatever it is, I want my parents to know we are in this together.

**** That’s my approach and what I have found that makes speech therapy successful for my students! It’s a team effort, and you can’t do it alone. If you get the parents and their teachers on board, that is the ultimate dream!
